Welcome Uniun - The New Adelaid Street Hot Spot

Charles Khabouth may have opened his fair share of restaurants in recent years, but if his new 16,000-square-foot club Uniun (pronounced like “union,” not “onion”) at 473 Adelaide St. W. is any indication, he has not abandoned his clubland roots. While some will likely write this off as just another joint for the 25+ bottle-service crowd (The Devil’s Martini, which it replaced, certainly was), there is one additional draw to the latest nightspot in the Ink Entertainment stable: the lights. Thousands of pulsing LEDs line the ceilings and walls, allowing the operators to create waves and 3-D light shows that change with the music (tellingly, Khabouth notes in a release that the system can also display “designs, images, words and logos”). Uniun can also pack a whopping 1,500 people into the long, narrow industrial-modern room, which features a large dance floor in the middle and, natch, bottle service along the walls.
